मराठी विकिपीडिया अद्यापि बाल्यावस्थेत, खरे म्हणजे अर्भकावस्थेत, आहे. आंतरजालाच्या अफाट विश्वात उपलब्ध असलेली माहिती आणि ज्ञान ह्यांच्या मानाने सध्याच्या मराठी विकिपीडियामधली माहिती आणि ज्ञान केवळ कणमात्र आहेत. पण हेही खरे की आंतरजालाद्वारे भारतीय भाषांमध्ये माहिती आणि ज्ञान पोहचवण्याच्या प्रयत्‍नात मराठी विकिपीडिया खचितच महत्त्वाची भूमिका पार पाडत आहे.

मराठी विकिपीडिया अद्यापि बाल्यावस्थेत, खरे म्हणजे अर्भकावस्थेत, आहे. आंतरजालाच्या अफाट विश्वात उपलब्ध असलेली माहिती आणि ज्ञान ह्यांच्या मानाने सद्यःच्या मराठी विकिपीडियामधली माहिती आणि ज्ञान केवळ कणमात्र आहेत. पण हेही खरे की आंतरजालाद्वारे भारतीय भाषांमध्ये माहिती आणि ज्ञान पोचवण्याच्या प्रयत्‍नात मराठी विकिपीडिया खचितच महत्वाची भूमिका पार पाडत आहे.

विकिपीडियाची व्याप्ती वाढविण्याकरता वेगवेगळ्या क्षेत्रांमधल्या जाणकार मंडळींच्या मदतीची नितांत गरज आहे. तुम्ही ह्या कामात मदत कराल अशी आम्ही आशा करतो.

[संपादन] तुम्ही मुख्यत्वे तीन प्रकारांनी मदत करू शकता

१. माहिती आणि ज्ञान पुरवणे हे कोणत्याही ज्ञानकोशाचे उद्दिष्ट असते. तुमच्या क्षेत्रातले ज्ञान ह्या ज्ञानकोशाद्वारे तुम्ही लोकांना उपलब्ध करू शकता.

२.इंग्लिश आणि इतरही भाषांमधली विविध क्षेत्रांतली माहिती मराठीत भाषांतरित करून ह्या मराठी ज्ञानकोशात तुम्हला भर घालता येईल.

३. इतर लेखकांनी पुरवलेल्या माहितीत लहानमोठ्या चुका तुम्हाला आढळल्या तर त्या चुका विकीच्या सर्वसाधारण तत्त्वांना धरून दुरुस्त करणे आपणास सहज शक्य आहे.

[संपादन] The localisation of MediaWiki for the Marathi language

Hoi,
I have asked Nikerabbit to take the messages that have been localised here on the Marathi Wikipedia, and make them available in the MediaWiki software. I am really happy that he did this. This means that in a few days, all WMF projects will allow many of the messages to be used in Marathi .. you will have to select Marathi in your user preferences .. however many messages were not usable for technical reasons.

The messages can already be found here in "BetaWiki". It would be appreciated if you could work on the localisation of the messages in the BetaWiki. When this is done well, the missing messages will become part of MediaWiki as well.
