Hello, I'm eu:TXiKi, from the basque wikipedia, and I would like to ask you for a bot flag here to add and correcting interwiki links from and to this Wikipedia. I'm an admin user in the basque wikipedia (eu) and I have the bot flag in more than 100 wikipedias. Dear community. I am writing to you to promote a special wiki called Betawiki. This wiki facilitates the localisation (l10n) of the MediaWiki interface. You may have changed many messages here to use your language in the interface, but if you would log in to for example the English language Wiktionary, you would not be able to use the interface as well translated as here. Infact, of the 1798 messages in the core of MediaWiki, 48 messages have been translated. Betawiki also supports the translation of messages of almost 80 extensions, with about 1050 messages.

If you wish to contribute to better support of your language in MediaWiki, as well as for many MediaWiki extensions, please visit Betawiki, create an account and request translator priviledges. You can see the current status of localisation of your language on meta and do not forget to get in touch with others that may already be working on your language on Betawiki.

If you have any further questions, please let me know on my talk page on Betawiki. We will try and assist you as much as possible, for example by importing all messages from a local wiki for you to start with, if you so desire.

The Bot runs in autonomous, but sometimes, it will run in manual assisted mode to solve interwiki conflicts. Already has a bot flag in ar, an, az, bar, bg, br, bpy, bs, ca, ceb, cs, da, de, el, en, eo, es, eu, fa, fi, fr, frp, gl, he, hr, ht, hu, hy, id, is, it, ja, jv, ka, ksh, ku, lb, li, lmo, ln, lt, mi, ml, ms, nds, nl, nn, no, pl, pt, ro, roa-tara, ru, sk, simple, sl, sq, sr, su, sv, th, tr, uk, vec, vi, vo, zh, zh-yue. 195.23.53.14: Yes, I was looking at Kuba trying to figure out what the editor was doing. I think the editor had good intentions and meant to help. However, he/she basically just changed the text to Esperanto. Maybe the user was just confused and thought he was in the Esperanto wikipedia, or maybe he knows Esperanto and is trying or begining to learn Ido and therefore made mistakes. Anyway, I don't think it was vandalism. I just reverted the changes. And thank you for pointing it out. Regarding your question about users, there's about 400 registered users, but there are not many regular editors. As to the MediaWiki, maybe it's not easily changed and/or it's not high on any editor's priorities. AnFu 17:47, 19 di novembro 2007 (UTC)

The bots that have flag can be found here. All other bots are not identified as such (no flag). In the Recent Changes, I can detect a few like this (they are visible): User:AlleborgoBot, User:TXiKiBoT, User:Robbot, User:VolkovBot. Hello. The standard bot policy was updated to allow global bots, which are now technically possible. These are trusted bots that will be given bot access on all wikis that allow global bots (the local policy or request page must explicitly allow them, or they won't get access on this wiki). The current requirements for global bots are:

  • the bot must only maintain interlanguage links or fix double-redirects;
  • the bot must already be active on several wikis, with long-term contributions to back up its trustworthiness.
