[edit] What is this?
For now, this is the WikiProject dealing with translation of all articles related to Vienna. The German article and its subarticles are, for obvious reasons, much more comprehensive than the English version. Translating and merging them seems a good start.
However, that's quite a lot of articles. Listing all of these pages on Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English would swamp it, so this is a way of coordinating the effort without disrupting the rest.
Eventually, when everything's translated, this project can transform into a proper member of WikiProject Cities. For now, we're just trying to lay the groundwork.
[edit] How can I help?
Below is the list of articles linked to or from Vienna. You can do any or all of the following:
- Check that links are correct. The German names may not be appropriate, for example because they are needlessly disambiguating things that have no alternatives on the English Wikipedia, or perhaps because they need disambiguations for things that do. Move pages around if necessary.
- Put {{ProjectVienna}} at the top of talk page of the article, if it's not already there. This will help others find this page.
- Translate it! You don't have to get it right or complete instantly, just put in any amount of work you feel comfortable with. Please do translate section headers first, so other people will know what is and isn't done, and our readers won't see articles that are suddenly cut off.
- Don't forget to add a transwiki link back to the German Wikipedia, with [[de:Articlename]].
If you have questions or suggestions for improvement, don't hesitate to use the talk page.
