Attractiveness
Attractiveness, attractive quality or attraction refer to a quality to be the cause of the emotion of attraction in a person. An attraction emotion is an interest or desire in something or someone.[1] The term "attraction" may also refer to the object of the attraction itself, as in "tourist attraction".
[edit] Visual attractivenessVisual attractiveness or visual appeal is attractiveness produced primarily by visual stimuli. [edit] Eye candyA common slang for visual appeal is eye candy.[2] It is shown to address the concept of eye catching while laying down a concept of sexuality as well. This term has been applied to visual effects in film, computer games and user interfaces; it often adds little to the overall plot, game play, or interface, and people have criticized developers who rely on eye candy too much. However, it is equally important to have some form of eye candy in most games, as it adds a sense of realism. Various novels, articles, and stories have used this slang term to show a moderate attraction to or for a particular person. The appeal shown in many visual effects is used to snare those who may witness these effects. It is also used to refer to actors cast solely for the visual enjoyment of the audience, e.g., for their sex appeal. Something or someone who competently fills a role as well as looking good may also be referred to as eye candy as a compliment. Various novels, articles, and stories have used this slang term to show a moderate attraction to or for a particular person [edit] Physical attractivenessPhysical attractiveness is the perception of the physical traits of an individual human person as pleasing or beautiful. It can include various implications, such as sexual attractiveness, cuteness, and physique. Judgment of attractiveness of physical traits is partly universal to all human cultures, partly dependent on culture or society or time period, and partly a matter of individual subjective preference.[citation needed] Since humans are culture based beings, the factors of attraction will be highly determined by their culture.[citation needed] It would be unthinkable for a person to go against the basis of their culture and live within it too. As an example, a nomadic man of Africa, seeking a spouse would know, due to culture, what the woman would be put through and would base his decision off of that. The woman would have to be physically adept (to be able to move quickly in case of danger) and intelligent (to be able to tell what is suitable to gather for food). If he did not choose a woman of such cultural standards, she, he and their family would most likely not survive very long in their environment. (See Hunter-Gatherer.) [edit] See also[edit] References
