The stewards election has started on m:Stewards/elections 2005. Anyone can vote provided that he has a valid account on meta with a link to at least one user page, on a project where the editor is a participant, with at least 3 months participation to the project. All Indian Languages using wikipedians,

Further promotion of Indic language wikipedias needs mass media publicity like Print,Radio,telvision , aproaching in academic Institutions.

Also if possible a level of field support from network engineers in India for presentation and training in usage of Indian Languages and wikipedia can be a added boon.

May I call on all indic language wikipedia users,to put our hands together to design special barnstars or suggest one which can be awarded to all those who will support our noble cause with actual field support among Indian education institutions and Indian mass media or actual field 'network'help to users.

I belive we should award barnstars to such users who can support the cause through online publicity like blogs , groups etc. also.

Dear community. I am writing to you to promote a special wiki called Betawiki. This wiki facilitates the localisation (l10n) of the MediaWiki interface. You may have changed many messages here on Wikipedia to use your language for your language profile, but if you would log in to for example the English language Wiktionary, you would not be able to use the interface as well translated as here. Infact, of the 1792 messages in the core of MediaWiki, ০ messages have been translated. Betawiki also supports the translation of messages of over 75 extensions, with 981 messages.

If you wish to contribute to better support of your language in MediaWiki, as well as for many MediaWiki extensions, please visit Betawiki, create an account and request translator priviledges. You can see the current status of localisation of your language on meta and do not forget to get in touch with others that may already be working on your language on Betawiki.

Hi All, It seems there are some mistakes in the Assamese encoding that has crept in. First, there is a difference between the colon (:) and the visarga (ঃ). They should not be used in place of each other. Second, there exists no separate Assamese "dari" and Unicode prescribes we use the Devanagri danda (।) and the double danda (॥). The vertical pipe (|) should not be used for the Assamese dari.
